What is your job/position at RCBC? What does it entail?
Bartender and Myrtletown’s “Mistress of Games”.
What are some challenges you face in your position?
As a bartender, picking out my favorite beer for the week. As a “Game Master”, getting the courage to encourage people to join in on the fun.
How long have you been with the company?
I have been working here for about two years.
What were you doing before you started working at RCBC?
Before enjoying the great outdoors of Humboldt, I was working three jobs in Tacoma, WA working in a speech pathology office helping kids with speech impediments; working as a bartender and server at a tavern; and managing a jewelry wholesale office.
What interested you in working for the company?
My love for beer, and working around different kinds of people and meeting new people. The Goldfish Crackers are also a plus.
Where did you grow up? What brought you to the area?
I grew up in Tacoma, WA. What brought me to Humboldt was my grandpa. He attended Humboldt State University, and we would come back to the area as a family to visit. I fell in love with the beaches and wanted to come to the river days in the summer.
What is your favorite RCBC beer?
The Cosmic Mo Double IPA, and the Maria Laveaux Sournoise.
If you were an RCBC beer, which one would you be?
I would be the Tropical Thunder Double IPA.
What is your favorite beer that is NOT RCBC?
Rhinestones and Sequins Sour Brut Double IPA brewed with Sauvignon blanc grapes by Stillwater.
What RCBC apparel do you find yourself wearing the most?
I find myself wearing the horizontal logo, long sleeve T-shirt.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
I love taking my dog to the beach and spending time outside in general, and then going dancing with friends.
What is the most memorable place you have visited?
Lake Tekapo in New Zealand! It was so beautiful with its vibrant emerald colored water, and the larrupins were in full bloom. The lake is also a dark sky reserve, so there is no light pollution and the clear night sky is unbelievable.
If you could eat one food for life, what would that be?
My grandma’s homemade lasagna and mushrooms (not the psychedelic kind).
What is something that most people do not know about you?
I have never only had one job. I have usually worked two to three jobs and this is the first time I have had one job. Also, I have watched all the episodes of The Office at least forty times, and The Lord of the Rings twenty-five times.
What isn’t real, but you desperately wish it was?
Free teleportation; like the kind in Harry Potter with the Floo Network.
What do you enjoy most about working for RCBC?
All of my coworkers honestly. It’s so great to become friends with all of my coworkers and enjoy hanging out together outside of work.
