Meet our Sales Rep. Jaime Stanfield! She is our Face on the Road full of beer knowledge to share with those new to Redwood Curtain Brewing Co. brews. Read the interview to find out more about our lovely Jaime!
What is your position at RCBC? What does it entail?
My title here is Beer Ambassador AKA Sales Representative, and my job includes checking in on all accounts in and out of town, introducing new beers to those accounts, pursuing new accounts, and having fun at beer fests and tap takeovers.
What are some of the challenges you face in your position?
Opening new accounts can be difficult. There is a lot of beer out there and a lot of breweries. Our beer sells itself, but to sell I have to wear different hats to be able to give the client what they want.
How long have you been with the company?
I was on and off. I started as a bartender when the first expansion happened and did that for about three years; then I took a break, then I moved to sales and have been doing that for about a year and a half now.
What were you doing before you started working at RCBC?
I have been working the restaurant industry for the last twenty-two years.
What interested you in working for the company?
Beer. Before I ever started working for RCBC, I was helping with beer festivals because I wanted to learn about beer and about the brewery. Shortly after the expansion, I applied for a position bartending.
Where did you grow up? What brought you to Humboldt County?
Detroit, Michigan... Proud and say it loud! I moved out here originally with a fella and that didn't work out. But I fell in love with the area, and have lived here for almost twelve years now.
What is your favorite RCBC beer?
My first love is the Dusseldorf Altbier. The Kolsch is another one of my go-to's. Love those German beers.
If you were an RCBC beer, which one would you be and why?
The Flaming Sombrero AKA Rauchbier because I am a little smokey and a little fiery.
What is your favorite beer that is NOT RCBC?
Belles Two Hearted Pale Ale (Michigan represent!)
What RCBC apparel do you find yourself wearing the most?
My limited edition maniac blue sweatshirt; I have worn sweat stains into that thing.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
I like going to see live music, hanging with my pups, getting my feet into the sand; just straight kickin' it.
What is your favorite thing to listen to while you are on the road?
I listen to lots of podcasts, usually about music. At the moment I am listening to Disgrace Land and American Scandal. I definitely crank out the tunes though; I was just listening to Queen on the way to work.
What is the most memorable place you have visited?
Haleakala Crater in Maui. Because the weather is always like Humboldt: foggy, wet, and cloudy. I still have yet to see the crater and I have been there three times! I always look disappointed in our photos at the top. It is a running joke and that is what makes it so memorable.
If you could eat one food for life, what would that be?
What is something that most people do not know about you?
I'm pretty much an open book, so no secrets here.
What isn't real, but you desperately wish it was?
Unicorns. If narwhals exist, then unicorns should to.
What do you enjoy most about working for the brewery?
Learning about the new beers and new styles of beer. And meeting new people! I am always meeting new people on the road. People will see the logo and ask about it which leads into conversation. Also driving around in the Peanut Wagon!
